As a response to the call for relief assistance of the typhoon Sendong victims in Northern Mindanao, the Philippine Community Council of NSW (PCC NSW) has immediately implemented a Relief Appeal commencing on the 19th of December 2011 and ending on the 5th of February 2012.

As part of the Relief Appeal, PCC NSW thru its PADER Program (Philippines Australia Disaster Emergency Response), a humanitarian project providing emergency relief assistance to disaster victims in Philippines and Australia, will be staging a charity concert on Sunday the 5th of February 2012 at 1:00pm at Bowman Hall, Campbell Street, Blacktown, NSW. qqz
The concert dubbed as ‘Bukas Palad’ (Open Hands) is presented in cooperation with the Philippine Consulate General, Sydney, and supported by the Blacktown City Council. It will showcase performances in music, dance and theatre acts by an array of talented Filipino and Australian artists led by the Concert Entertainment Chairperson, songstress Ms Lillian de los Reyes.
PCC NSW hopes that the outcomes of the ‘Bukas Palad’ will surpass or at least be close, to the results of previous PADER Program fundraising drives.
As good outcomes can only be achieved thru the participation of everyone, PCC NSW and its Concert Production Team are calling to affiliate and non-affiliate organizations, entrepreneurs and individuals to support ‘Bukas Palad’ by either being a sponsor of the concert, by donating cash, or by purchasing concert entry tickets which is only $15.00 per person on a first come first serve basis.

To purchase concert tickets, sponsorship or donation arrangement and other relevant inquiries please contact; Marivic Manalo – 0402 354 853; Millie Banan – 0403 021 358; Sol Lapalma – 0422 451 642.

Meantime, PCC NSW acknowledges organizations and individuals who have already responded to the Relief Appeal, enabling PCC NSW to send on Thursday the 22nd of December 2011 an urgent relief assistance of $7,155 cash for the cities of Iligan and Cagayan de Oro, the most badly hit places by the typhoon due to flash flooding. The amount was coursed thru to the Cagayan de Oro Rotary Club, who will manage the purchasing and distribution of foods, clothing and medicines for the two cities.

Below is the breakdown of the $7,155 cash donation;
