On this Prince of Peace Church pre-25th Anniversary Celebration,
George R. Poblete and Charity Ahmad started the program with a power point slide show of the Seniors gatherings through the past 11 years.
(The Parish seniors gather every month. They have a theme, such as Heritage Day, St. Patrick's day, Christmas, etc., where the volunteers decorated the hall, have bingo games, dancing exercise for seniors, community singing, and of course, the refreshments.)
This April, the volunteers performed a line dancing, a modern dance exhibition, a number of ethnic choral groups sang, the seniors paraded in their native costumes, and of course, a delicious international cuisine. Charity's team presented awards to the seniors with the best costumes, plus many gifts to the guests.
This Seniors monthly gathering was started 11 years ago by the then Pastoral Assistant Ms. Beverly MacDonald, to encourage the senior parishioners and friends to socialize monthly in the Prince of Peace Church hall.
