Background
The Asian Canadian Talent Search (ACTS) is an annual singing competition that provides an opportunity for young Asian Canadians to have their voice heard above thousands. The ACTS was created to promote and celebrate multiculturalism in Asian Canadian youth and to nurture young vocal performers in their early stages. They are given the chance to represent their community and place a spotlight on the talent that exists in the heart of the Greater Toronto Area, a city that bursts with undiscovered talent and star power.
The competition is open to all Asian Canadians between the ages of 15 to 30 and the finalists will be chosen through a series of qualifying rounds. 47 quarter-finalists will perform across two days, May 6, 2012 and May 13, 2012, at Pacific Mall. The Semi-final will follow on May 27, 2012 at Pacific Mall with 25 contestants. Ten finalists will be chosen to participate in the Final taking place on June 30, 2012 at the P.C. Ho Theatre at the Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto. The finalists and winners will be chosen by a prestigious panel of judges in the music industry.
