Ang batayan ba ng tagumpay materyal na mga bagay?
Sa luwang ba ng bakuran at ganda ng aring bahay?
Sa dami ba ng aring ginto at pera sa bangko Sentral?
Sa lawak ba ng ‘isdaan at laki ng kabukiran?
 
Sa uri ba ng tinapos sinusukat ang tagumpay?
Na aral ng karunungang nagmula sa pamantasan.
Sa taas ba ng tungkulin sa trabahong pinasukan?
Sa daigdig na naghamon at hinarap na larangan.
 
Sa panlabas na anyo ba natatamo ang tagumpay?
Sa ganda ba ng maybahay at dami ng kasintahan?
Sa ningning ba ng alahas, palamuti sa katawan?
Sa damit bang suot natin na maganda at makinang?
 
Hindi dapat kaibigan na hatulan ang tagumpay
Sa materyal na mga bagay at natamong karunungan
O sa taas ng tungkulin sa trabahong pinasukan
O sa angkin nating ganda sa labas na kaanyuan.
 
Pagka’t tayo’y iba iba’t kani-kanyang katangian
Noong tayo’y ipanganak at lumaki at nag-aral
May marunong, may mayabang, may pusakal at gahaman
May mabuti na huwaran at gawa ay kabutihan.
 
Ang tagumpay ay paggamit ng bigay na kakayahan
Na handog na katutubo noong tayo ay isilang
Ng DIYOS na mahabagin, matulungi’t mapagbigay
Ang TAGUMPAY ay ligaya nang pagiging TANGING IKAW.
