Miss Manila is the longest running personality contest in the Filipino community in Toronto. The winners will host the Philippine pavilion during the Carabram Festival in Brampton and will represent the Fiesta Filipina Dance Troupe to all the summer activities of the Filipino Community.
In the pavilion, our Miss Manila or the "Princess" helps in giving an overview of what Manila is, what the Philippines is, and who the Filipinos are and welcomes the guests during the three days festival..
The candidates and winners of our pageant are featured in a Santacruzan sponsored by the Filipino Center Toronto in their Pistahan held at the Toronto City Hall in celebration of the Philippine Independence. They will also be gracing some of the flag raising activities of different towns in Toronto and will be featured in the two days Making Waves Festival in downtown.
WE are proud to say that Miss Manila is the only pageant in the community where candidates meet the judges on a one on one basis before actually watching them on stage. The only pageant that has been in existence for a long time but never been involved in any controversy like cheating and manipulations that often characterize other beauty pageants. It makes the pageant the most popular and the most credible because of our process and the judicious choice of respectable individuals that make up the board of judges.
This year we had 11 candidates carefully chosen. They went through six weeks rehearsal for the fully choreographed staging and a dance that featured their dancing skills. The Miss Manila is a show that everyone in the community is looking forward to watch.
