Filipino-Canadians are now starting to excel in the different field of activities in Canada from business to religious.
Brother Vince Dumael, a native of San Juan, Batangas, leads the Knights of Columbus
St. Lawrence the Martyr Council 13417 as Grand Knight. He was installed some few days ago to serve for the year 2012-2013.

Dumael was already a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus in his hometown until he came to Toronto, Ontario and joined the Knights of Columbus Maharlika Council.
As a new immigrant, he has a hard time coping with his schedule in his job thus affected his
attending the meeting in the KoC Maharlika Council/
He was able to buy a house in Lawrence Avenue East in Scarborough for he attended masses with his family at the St. Lawrence the Martyr Church during Sundays of religious obligations.
This gave him a chance to observe the activites and meetings of the Knights of Columbus
St. Lawrence the Martyr Council 13417.
He believed that it was a calling for him to join the KoC Council 13417 as a Brother Knight
approached him and convincing him to join the Council.
Dumael is married to Lilibeth Dumael with two children, son, Arvin, 17 years old and daughter, Tracy, 12 years old.
Fr. Roy Farrell, the parish priest of the Church of St. Lawrence the Martyr, is the KoC Council
