CEBU WARMLY WELCOMES PCCF DELEGATION

Cebu City: PCCF (Phillipine-Canadian Charitable Foundation) delegation headed by Jun and Rosemer Enverga and Mrs. Philippines-Canada Noemi Milanes together with Consul General Pedro Chan started Philippine tour in the City of Cebu. Ambassador Benedicto and Mayor Rama were on hand for a warm welcome to the group. The delegation was provided VIP treatment by the City that includes Premium Sinulog reception and bus tour to the City.  Next stop is a visit to Manila Mayor Lim, Malacanang and inaguration of the PCCF ANCOP Village in Paranaque.

FILIPINO BASKETBALL NIGHT EXTRAVAGANZA

Sydney, NSW - The Filipino Basketball Night was a huge success for the Filipino community. The annual exhibition organized by HOOPDREAMZ and the Sydney Kings, and supported by PCC-NSW was held last night at the Sydney Entertainment Centre.  The special event raised over $1000 for the benefit of the Sendong typhoon victims. 
 
The Filipino Basketball Night was the curtain raiser to the main game between the Sydney Kings and league leader Perth Wildcats. The two HOOPDREAMZ basketball selections featured some of the best up-and-coming Filipino-Australian basketball players across Sydney.

The Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) is pleased to announce that nominations are now formally open for the Year 2012 Presidential Awards for Filipino Individuals and Organizations Overseas.   The Presidential Awards is a biennial search to recognize exceptional individuals and organizations for their outstanding contribution to Philippine progress and development.  The Awards are also conferred on overseas Filipinos who have shown excellence and distinction in their work or profession.

           Isagani (Bong) P. Castillo is not only an educator but more so a musically inclined young Filipino and even described by Filipinos in Toronto, Ontario, Canada as a nationalist.

            He runs a school called Ontario Health Care Academy which offers course  for a personal support worker.  It is a multicultural educational institution in Toronto....

The Filipino parishioners of St. Barnabas Church in Scarborough had another fulfilling Christmas season. They celebrated the Philippine tradition by attending the "Simbang Gabi" Mass & novena at 5:30 in the morning  from Dec 15, 2011 to Christmas Eve.
