Fred DeAsis Filipino art chosen for Holy Week in US

Chicago – In observance of the Holy Week, a classic masterpiece artwork “Christ Carrying the Cross” by renowned Filipino artist Fred DeAsis is on display at St. Alphonsus Ligouri Church of the Archdiocese of Chicago in Prospect Heights, Illinois from April 1 through April 7, 2012.
The life-sized masterpiece of acrylic impasto on wood panel was rendered in European old masters’ classic style and technique. The art piece is the artist’s interpretation of biblical verse John 19:17 -- "Carrying the cross all by himself, he went out to what is called The Place of a Skull, which in Hebrew is called Golgotha."

Chicago - The 37th annual Art in the Barn juried fine art show selects renowned Filipino American avant-garde artist, Fred DeAsis, to judge the one of the finest and well attended art fair in the America. The fair will be held on the grounds of Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington, Illinois September 24 - 25, 2011.
Fred DeAsis is one of the most prolific Filipino American artists in America. He is well known for his traveling cultural art exhibits, workshops, and Philippine ancient art and culture lectures in universities and other learning institutions. He was the recipient of many awards from civic organizations and communities for outstanding achievement in promoting arts and culture across the country.

Chicago - Renowned avant-garde Chicago artist Fred DeAsis unveils his latest art concept on the opening night of the Philippine Week celebration at the Instituto Cervantes of Chicago at 5pm on July 7, 2011. CHICAGO - A symbolic bench artwork designed by renowned Filipino American artist, Fred DeAsis, was selected out of hundred entires for the In Bloom outdoor art exhibit this summer. Only 30 were chosen for the prestidious event. DeAsis' artwork titled: “Our Green Earth” is on display in front of Lord and Taylor upscale department store. An artist reception and unveiling of sculptures will be held at the Clubhouse Oakbrook on May 19, 2011.
