RIZAL BUST INAUGURATED IN CADIZ TO COMMEMORATE 11TH PHILIPPINES-SPAIN FRIENDSHIP DAY

19 June 2013 - Philippine Ambassador to Spain Carlos C. Salinas, Senator Edgardo J. Angara, and Cadiz Mayor Teofila Martínez Saiz inaugurated a bust of Dr. Jose Rizal at Parque Alameda Apodaca in Cadiz on June 14 to commemorate 11th Philippines-Spain Friendship Day....

For those of us who can still remember a little Spanish, this is a remake of Jose Rizal’s landmark work, Filipinas dentro de Cien Años in which he attempts to describe the Philippines a hundred years from his days, to see if the Philippines could eventually shake off the yoke of colonial Spain and advance as an independent country.
