Sun 23rd October 2011

The 67th Leyte Gulf Landings Commemoration was held for the fourth time by the Visayan Association of Australia Inc with assistance from Fil-Oz Liverpool and APCO Inc. at the All Saints Catholic Church Hall in Liverpool. The event was fully catered by Townsends Catering and Discount Party Hire.

Bugle call sounded to begin the commemoration and participants assembled before the three nation’s flag, (Australia, The Philippines and United States of America). Flag bearers marched and followed by guests wearing casual and military uniforms. It was a parade of colours that gave way to an evening of solemn celebration to remember our native and alien heroes. The crowd stood steadfastly at every national anthem to show respect, loyalty and utmost admiration to all soldiers while reminiscing those fateful days of victory.
