We, the members of The First Wehl Group (Winnipeg Residents), have finally accepted the responsibility to host the Holland Berghaus Annual Valentine’s Ball on February 14, 2009.

A “Gezellig” gathering was held during Norma Manangan’s second stop-over visit to Holland this year after a hectic working meeting with the Kenya Alliance Against Malaria in Nairobi, Kenya.

A group of Berghaus Ladies in Holland hosted a welcome party for Norma Manangan of Maryland, USA, who visited Holland last April 19, 2008 with her husband, Rodrigo and twin-daughters, Julia and Nilda.

In the early 60s, The Netherlands was recovering and rebuilding itself from the destructions of World War II. In many sectors of society there was a shortage of manpower. The country did not have enough medical personnel, construction workers, professionals in various fields.
They were once residents of The Netherlands in 1973 - 1976, employed by Berghaus BV for three years as contract workers in its coat factory in Amsterdam and Wehl in the Achter Hoek.
